Only Dave's Home Theater offers custom programming and design services that will move your Home Theatre and Home Entertainment Systems to one, workable remote that can be easily used by the whole family. Remote Control Programming is our business, and we can absolutely promise you that if you really want to solve this problem once and for all- you've found the solution.

Only Dave's Home Theater supports the Logitech Harmony remotes, and all of the touch screen models produced by RTI, two models from Nevo Q50 Q70 and Universal

Only Dave's Home Theater configurations are activity based so that anyone can operate the system. All of our programming is designed to allow any user to operate the system. You simply push a button labeled "Watch Television" and it happens! Everything turns on and switches to the proper settings every time. The remote will then display a new page with your chosen channel logos. Press a logo and go to that channel. When you are finished using the system there's always an "OFF" button right there. Simply press off and the system shuts off. It doesn't get any easier than this.

Only Dave's Home Theater understands the Home Theater business, and after many years of experience we have found that system control is one of the biggest complaints that customers typically express after purchasing a system. Many members of the household are unable to fully enjoy the investment they have made because they are intimidated by the bewildering array of buttons required to make the thing work. All of our configurations are created individually for each customer. We guarantee our work completely. We do not have one single unsatisfied customer and have hundreds of users in the field

Infrared, line of sight and operating angle

Since infrared (IR) remote controls use light, they require line of sight to operate the destination device. The signal can, however, be reflected by mirrors, just like any other light source.

If operation is required where no line of sight is possible, for instance when controlling equipment in another room or installed in a cabinet, many brands of IR extenders are available for this on the market. Most of these have an IR receiver, picking up the IR signal and relaying it via radio waves to the remote part, which has an IR transmitter mimicking the original IR control.

Infrared receivers also tend to have a more or less limited operating angle, which mainly depends on the optical characteristics of the phototransistor. However, it’s easy to increase the operating angle using a matte transparent object in front of the receiver.

RF remote control

(Radio Frequency remote control) A handheld, wireless device used to operate audio, video and other electronic equipment using radio frequency transmission. Unlike infrared (IR) remotes, which are the most common, RF remotes are easier to use because they do not require line of sight and do not have to be aimed at the equipment. The RF remote can also be operated from another room. Held in the hand like a cellphone, the buttons are pressed in the same straightforward manner.

  Base Stations Are Required

Most devices operated by handheld remotes are based on infrared and have an IR sensor in the front of the unit. Signals from an RF remote have to be converted to infrared by a base station with a small antenna. For use inside equipment cabinets, base stations typically have a front "blaster" that showers IR signals to all the components by reflecting off the closed cabinet door. The base station also has sockets for several IR emitters that are wired to, and pasted directly over, the IR sensors in the equipment. See IR remote control and RF.
